Please plan to attend Wilson High School’s 8th Grade Parent Night on Thursday, February 7 so that you can learn
about all of the opportunities we offer. Forecasting is the process in which students select their classes for next year.
Wilson counselors will make presentations and distribute materials to 8th graders at Jackson and Robert Gray middle
schools as shown below. We encourage you and your student to take the time to read the forecast guide. The classes
that your student selects are the classes that s/he will be enrolled in for all of next year. High schools decide which
classes they will teach and how many periods the classes will be offered based on your forecast choices. Because of
this, schedule changes in the fall are seldom possible. Your student will need time to review the materials, obtain recommendations/signatures from current teachers, and finalize decisions. S/he will be given a checklist to help guide
you through this process.

Thursday, Feb. 7..........8th Grade Parent Night
6:00 - 6:30PM.....Q & A Session with Counselors (optional) - Wilson Auditorium.
6:30 - 8:30PM.....Wilson Welcome, Presentation, Tours, etc.
Monday, Feb.11...........Wilson counselors at Robert Gray MS to collect completed, signed forecast sheets.
Tuesday, Feb. 12.........Wilson counselors at Jackson MS to collect completed, signed forecast sheets.
Friday, Feb. 22.............District application deadline for High School transfers.
If your student does not attend any of the schools we are presenting to above, you can pick up your forecasting
materials after February 23 in the Wilson High Counseling Office. We look forward to meeting and working with your
