Students Work for Social Justice

The Wilson High School's Students for Social Justice are motivated by the belief that people can make change and can make a difference by working together. They started the year with a very successful winter clothing drive for migrant workers.

Currently,Students for Social Justice are working on ways to challenge the district's coca cola policies. They were featured in a news story last Friday night on Fox News at 10pm. The news reporters talked to our students about what engages their political interests.

MOST exciting...the students are planning a NEW MURAL focused on social justice heroes for the front of our school to replace the ages old one which adorns the front entrance way. They want to involve the whole school! Any students with artistic talent or simply those who would like to honor their heroes who have worked for social justice are welcome to join us at our lunch meetings on Thursdays in room 106. Katie Miller, senior, is our student representative and she is always excited to talk to people about our work.
